Open Door Fund Goals
We Make Sure it Does Get Better
The Open Door Fund, created in 1996 as permanent endowment by The Community Foundation, provides grants for programs that enhance the lives of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. We are the only organization in Boulder County that exists solely to raise money for non-profits serving the LGBT community. To date the fund has provided grants of nearly $400,000 to dozens of organizations.
The primary goals of Open Door Fund are:
To address problems and
needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgendered (LGBT) persons in
Boulder County;
To build LGBT community;
To foster collaboration
and promote constructive dialogue
between gay and non-gay people; and
To provide a permanent
source of support for organizations
serving the LGBT community.
The Open Door Fund is uniquely positioned to asses the overall needs of organizations working in the County and to act as a catalyst for change on many fronts.
